Funding Your Sustainability Journey – Rye

From installing renewable energy to redesigning a product, do you have plans to make your business more sustainable that require funding?

At this workshop, Clean Growth UK Business Grants Manager Ian Smallwood will help you understand where funding and finance sit in your business/sustainability plan.

You’ll get answers to questions about types of funding, payback periods, and much more.

The workshop will cover:

  • Jargon/myth busting, Finance v Funding. Debt, Cashflow, RoI, Payback period etc.
  • Types of funding and finance. Grants, loans, rental, and lease options (particularly roof space for solar)
  • Types of projects and suggested funding or finance routes, solar on a factory, solar on a village hall, LED in a warehouse that sort of thing
  • Sources of funding and finance, local authority grants, government grants/subsidies (Workplace charging schemes, cycle to work) Banks (High st & alternative) alternative lenders and community energy.
  • Case studies, what they did how they did it and what they saved.
  • Worked examples. “If we installed Solar how much would we save? What’s the payback period?” Look at the most appropriate funding options and what are their costs?
